LauzHack is a student-run hackathon at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Hackathons are creativity and prototyping marathons, in which you “hack” a demo of your cool idea to show its potential.
No need to be a programming master, only to be able to glue together existing libraries and interfaces to create your demo as a team.

Come have fun, meet new friends, and maybe even win prizes during an amazing weekend!

F.A.Q.

Can I participate?

You must be at least 18 and a student, apprentice or PhD student, or have graduated in the past 24 months.
You can participate in a team of up to 4 people.

How much does it cost?

Thanks to our sponsors, attendance is free and we partially reimburse travel if you live outside Lausanne.

Where is it?

At EPFL in Lausanne, bordering Lake Geneva.

What should I bring?

A laptop and charger, toiletries, and passport or ID card.

Where will I sleep?

We have limited space in a sleeping area as well as showers.
Please bring a sleeping bag and toiletries.

Is there a specific topic?

No, all ideas are welcome, and you can choose to work on one or more of the challenges our sponsors will propose. There are prizes for the best hacks overall and the best challenge entries.

I have to arrive on Friday...

We have limited sleeping space for that night, you will need to request it once accepted.

I don't have a team...

You don’t need one to apply! Part of the fun is meeting people.
There will be time at the beginning to socialize and form teams.

I don't have much programming experience...

That’s fine! Hackathons are about prototyping a cool idea by writing simple code, gluing together existing libraries and APIs.

One of my friends can't make it...

You can recruit new teammates during the event.
For fairness reasons, we cannot allow changes to groups once you submit the application form.

What about intellectual property?

We do not claim any rights on your intellectual property.
Everything you create, at LauzHack or not, belongs to you.
